Are you a highly motivated coder who is ready to make their mark in the tech industry? If so, Empty Cubicle wants YOU! Our Toronto-based start-up is looking for a .NET developer specializing in database architecture to join our growing team. Founded by passionate, experienced experts in the space, we are putting together a team to change the landscape in our niche market.

In addition to experience with C# and ASP.NET MVC development, you are a motivated individual and a team player who has the willingness and capability to learn. The candidate should have solid architectural knowledge and be as comfortable building the front-end as they are building the data layer. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, we are looking for someone who is a self-starter and who works well both independently and in a team environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Creating and modifying controller in a RESTful manner
  • Optimizing code (DRY Principles)
  • Editing HTML forms with successful POST requests
  • Using C# in HTML (Razor Pages) to add elements
  • Storing intake from platform to databases
  • A passion for writing clean, maintainable code
  • Designing and managing databases with SQL server

  • Qualifications:

  • Has knowledge of .NET framework (.NET Core is an asset)
  • Experience with Microsoft Identity, Entity and LINQ
  • Comfortable with MVC - Code first DB with C#
  • Experience with Git version control
  • Basic knowledge of CSS and HTML
  • Team player with strong interpersonal and communication proficiency
  • Azure experience (preferred)
  • Experience or interest in Big Data (preferred)
  • Experience or interest in Machine Learning (preferred)

  • Required Professional Designation/Certification

  • A degree is required; preference will be given to degrees in Computer Science or a related field

    Empty Cubicle is growing into the next phase of its business with our iOS application. We’re looking for a Junior Mobile Developer to join our team. You will be responsible for building and maintaining our native iOS app, based off our web platform. The selected candidate will report to the Development Lead and work independently, as well as with the dev team.

    If you are passionate about new technologies and an active user of iOS applications, this is a great opportunity to join a company developing a very innovative project.

    Responsibilities:

  • Develop mobile features, including planning, technical design, development, and testing
  • Collaborate with other teams, such as our backend, UX, and marketing teams
  • Help ensure quality by participating in code reviews, fixing bugs, and building tests
  • Take ownership of the features you work on
  • Implement flows and mockups

  • Qualifications:
  • You have coding skills in Java, Swift or Objective C
  • You value design and usability
  • When things break, you are eager and able to help fix things
  • Experience with Git version control
  • You want to grow your skills on iOS platform
